Waiting for Irma

Saturday morning.  Trilogy Ocala Preserve.  The workmen have left.  The silence is deafening!  We're waiting for Irma.

Reminds me of the hours before Isabel hit.

Waiting up here too! I wish that thing would just stop moving west though. I really don't want it to get out in the gulf and then strengthen again.

Lowell, hope you and yours will be safe as Irma hits. Are you safe from storm surges? Have you considered fleeing north? We wish you the best as this hurricane blows through.

I've just signed on after watching CNN hurricane reports on the TV here in the U.K. to see how you are. I've absent from posting on CPD too. Glad you are back and hope you all will be ok as Irma invades Florida. Take care and be safe.

So you're sheltering in place? I hope it keeps its distance from you. You're in my thoughts and prayers!

I sense the eerie silence before the storm. On the high ground you’d be safe from flooding but you might feel stronger wind like me whose house is almost at the top of the hill far from the sea. Wish the safety of you and all your families and relatives.

I was thinking of you two and assume you came through it all just fine based on where I think I know you are. It was surreal watching the local Ft Myers channel (on their website) as we sat safe and sound all the way across the country. The word from the management of our 'resort' is that there was no significant damage -- but still no electricity, so they haven't been able to do an extensive check. It sure could have been worse.
